The look and performance are unmatched with these XB's.

These are a no briner, do not waste your time on other crap.

I was impressed with the easy install instructions and quality of lights. They definitely are worth every penny. I was hesitant to change out a perfect set of headlights but I'm so glad I did.

In short, the headlights are beautiful and bright. The look/design is amazing BUT they're just not worth $1100. Why? Fitment is ok at best and for the price you pay, I expected a straight, even beam pattern. The cut-off is crisp and definitive but I spent an hour adjusting them and they simply would not line up evenly. Save yourself some big bucks and go with the Morimoto 2Stroke 2.0 LEDs. Same light output but a fraction of the price.

Full review: Like the title states, I really wanted to love these headlights. I had been researching them for over a year now and was extremely disappointed when I missed out on the Black Friday price of $975 from another vendor. So when I saw HR was giving a 10% discount for Labor Day, I knew I had to jump on them. So I took the plunge and ponied up the $1100 (after taxes) for them.

Fast forward a few days and my face lit up like a kid on Christmas when they arrived. I even left work early after I received a text notification that they had arrived (Don't tell my boss). I got home and first bad sign was that the box was completely mangled. Like it had just gotten into a fight with Mike Tyson in his prime, but thankfully, Morimoto had the headlights well packaged and protected. After fully inspected them and verified they were still good, I went to work on installing them.

After removing all the necessary parts on my 4Runner, the first thing I see is that the fitment is not that great. Yes, they're aftermarket lights so I understood and expected them to not fit like the OEM headlights but for $1100, you'd think enough R&D would've gone into these to ensure that fitment was exactly like the OEM lights, if not, damn near close. But they weren't. They fit like 80% but that's not what you're expecting when you spend this kind of cash. The main issue with mine is that the tops of the headlights do not sit flush with the hood so there's a noticeable gap between them. This is after I pushed up on them and secure the bolts. Now, it could just be the set I received but I'm not sure as I don't have another set to compare them too. From all the other videos, reviews, and installations I've watched, they all seem to have this gap. I just didn't notice it until now. My concern with this is the amount of water that can possibly seep underneath the hood has now increased because of this gap. My semi-solution is to purchase some window weather stripping foam from Home Depot and stick a thin piece underneath the hood to prevent this.

After plugging everything up, the moment of truth was upon. My shining moment I had been waiting for ended anti-climatically. I thought I'd be able to light up my entire neighborhood when I flipped these on but they didn't. Reason for this is because I previously had the Morimoto 2Stroke 2.0 LEDs in my OEM headlights so going from those to these headlights was a bit of a letdown since the light output was basically the same. With that being said, if you're going from your STOCK halogens to these, you're going to be AMAZED by the difference in brightness and overall badass-ness. My letdown was because I expected the XB headlights to be even brighter than the LED bulbs but I was wrong.

Nonetheless, the difference maker for me was the design of these headlights. First off, the black housing of these are just on a whole another level and they really complement and complete the look my of TRD Pro (still now sure why Toyota opted to keep chrome housing headlights/taillights on these when everything else is blacked out). Second, the 3 individual projectors within the headlights are SECOND TO NONE! They just ooze with a bold sleekness and distinction that separates you from every other 4Runner out there. Third, the Daytime Running Lights aka DRLs are magnificent. They honestly should have come with something similar from the factory but this just completes the look of the SUV. It also makes it look like something from this decade as it should. If you're a Toyota fan, they're the most dependable vehicles out there but they have always lacked in the technology department. They're like the Apple of car manufacturers. With that being said, I am still in awe with the look of these. And lastly, the sequential turn signals on these will make you speechless. Seeing these in action is like seeing a leprechaun riding a unicorn at the end of a rainbow with a pot of gold. They almost make you forget how much you spent on them for a short time with how amazing they look.

Unfortunately, all great things must come to an end. After bolting and buttoning everything back up, it came time to adjusting and leveling the beam pattern. As mentioned at the beginning, the cut-off line is clean and crisp. The issue for me is that they don't line up 100% even. Now, I'm no lighting expert, but the beam pattern just looked jagged and no where near as good as the OEM lights. And when you fork up the type of money you do for something like this, you expect the best. I spent an ample amount of time trying to see if they would line up straight and they would not. This to me is where the headlights fall super short of expectations.

In conclusion, I can't recommend these headlights for what I consider to be major flaws in the fitment and light pattern. If all you care about is how it makes your 4Runner look then consider it money well spent. For me, the price even with the discount I got does not justify the product. If it weren't for me opening the box and probably getting charged a restocking fee, I probably would have returned them. My recommendation is just go with the Morimoto 2Stroke 2.0 LEDs in your stock headlights. They're a little noisier but light output is the same and a fraction of the cost of these headlights. You'll feel better and probably not as constipated knowing you spent a lot less because these headlights are better quality than eBay ones but not worth anymore than $500 in my opinion.

Purchased the Morimoto XB headlights for my 4Runner back in early Dec, it took some time to get but well worth the wait. Everything you have heard or seen is Absolutely TRUE. These headlights are INCREDIBLE, cannot believe I was able to drive with the stock ones before. Was debating on just replacing the stock bulbs to LED, glad I went all in and upgraded the complete headlight... NOW I CAN SEE THE LIGHT.
